JPS Swim Lesson Info Sheet and Current Lessons

 
JPS Swim School is for Jenison students who feel confident in their ability to swim 25 yards (ages 6-8 years old) or 50 yards (ages 9-14 years old) freestyle & backstroke, and who may be interested in joining the Jenison Age Group competitive swim team in the future. The JPS Swim School will focus on prepping the swimmer for an upcoming age group swim meet (if the swimmer is ready). These are not your typical swim lessons, as they are geared toward giving your swimmer a taste of what being on the swim team is all about without the full-season commitment.

Swimmers 6-8 years old will focus on the skills necessary to complete the 25-yard freestyle and backstroke races. Swimmers 9-14 years old will focus on the skills necessary to complete the 50-yard freestyle and backstroke races. The goal of Swim School is to eventually join the Jenison Age Group Swim Team (JAWS). Swim school runs in conjunction with our age group swim team and may be offered in June or January.

 

Pre-Team is like JPS Swim School, but without the swim meet at the end. Pre-Team is meant for swimmers who feel confident in their ability to swim 25 yards (ages 6-8 years old) or 50 yards (ages 9-14 years old) freestyle & backstroke, and who may be interested in joining the Jenison Age Group competitive swim team in the future. Like JPS Swim School, Pre-Team lessons are meant to introduce swimmers to what happens on a swim team without the full-season commitment. During Pre-Team, swimmers will focus on skills needed for swim team such as freestyle, backstroke, and starts.
 

Our hope is that your child will give Pre-Team/JPS Swim School a try, fall in love with the sport, and join us for the next season of our Jenison Age Group competitive swim team.
